Terms of Business

I normally work at my home base, making occasional visits to the client's site as necessary. However, I can work on site if the project demands it.

For work at my home base, my current rate is £35 per hour plus expenses. Expenses include travel at 70p per mile, subsistence and telephone charges incurred as a necessary part of fulfilling the contract. I do not charge for travelling time. Depending on the situation, an increased hourly rate may apply for onsite work.

Where the extent of the project is well defined, I can also work to a fixed price.

If a fixed price is required, I will quote a fixed price based on the perceived size of the job. Unless otherwise agreed, the price will not include documentation of changes to hardware or software that were not foreseen at the time of quotation.

I normally present the invoice on completion of the job, for payment within 30 days. However, for a lengthy job or when there are delays not caused by Electrotech Services, I may request stage payments in proportion to the amount of work so far completed.

Late payment of invoices may attract interest in line with the current legislation.

I will endeavour to ensure that the documentation is accurate and complete. However, it is responsibility of the client to ensure, during the vetting stage, that the documentation is accurate and complete, particularly as regards health and safety.
