Message in a Bottle
Do you have a friend, relative, neighbour who lives alone. Get them a Message in a Bottle.
This is an emergency information scheme that provides the Emergency Services with vital details of any illness or allergy they may suffer from, medication etc. and the name of a person to be contacted in the event of sudden illness or accident.
The vital details are stored in a plastic container and kept in the fridge. Two special stickers, known to the Emergency Services, are placed in the house - one on the outside of the fridge door and the other on a wall or panel near the front door. On seeing these, the emergency services know to look in the fridge for the vital information.
Bottles are available from your Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator (David Pearson, 9 Chalklands tel.471589) and from Neville Jessop, Dereham, Southend Road (tel. 477874).
Sandon Parish Council is concerned that dog owners in the parish are allowing the deposit of dog mess on footpaths and on other people's gardens. If you take your doggie for walkies, clear up after it! Don't leave it for someone else to clear up or walk in.
The parish Council will be seeking advice on by-law involvement which, if successful, would result in fines for offences.
Beware Plant Thieves
Thieves have stolen plants from the front garden of a house in East Hanningfield Road. Keep an eye on your plants and those of your neighbours.
For details of what the council will collect and when, refer to the Domestic Refuse Collections page of the Chelmsford City Council web site. Click here.
We have a Welcome Leaflet that provides information that could be useful to new residents. If a new resident moves in near you, pop in and give them a copy. Click here to view and print the leaflet. Alternatively, contact a member of the committee, who will do the honours.
